Maritza’s Story – A Teacher’s Dream of Walking Again
In November 2013 Operation Walk orthopedic medical mission returned to Guatemala to perform approximately 70 free hip & knee replacements. Maritza, a school teacher and mother of 2 has been unable to work for several years because of severe arthritis in her hips. This video is the story of Maritza’s dream for surgical procedures that could restore her hope of returning to her teaching career and providing for her family’s future. Operation Walk gave Maritza 2 hip replacements and the film crew returned almost 8 months later to see how her future was changing.
